7th Annual Save-A-Limb Ride,
Walk and Festival

Saturday, October 20, 2012
Oregon Ridge Park, Maryland

We would like to thank the riders, walkers, fundraisers, volunteers and sponsors who made the 6th Annual Save-A-Limb Bike Ride possible. More than one thousand people attended this year's event. We raised over $175,000 and donations are still coming in. Because of your support, we can continue to financially assist patients who cannot afford physical therapy, housing during lengthy treatments, transportation or adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs. We can also continue our international outreach missions, which help adults and children with orthopedic problems in countries such as Nicaragua, India and Haiti.

The date for next year's Save-A-Limb Ride is Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Oregon Ridge Park. Registration will be available in early 2012. The event will include 6-mile, 15-mile, 30-mile, and metric century rides as well as a 1-mile family walk, post-ride picnic, kids' festival and fitness fair. Chris Horner, who won the 2011 Tour of California and the 2010 Tour of the Basque Country, will be riding the metric century with us this year. Chris currently rides for Team RadioShack and was a champion in the 2002, 2003 and 2004 USA Cycling National Racing Calendar. Please continue to check this web site for more information about the celebrities, the fundraising prizes, the rides and the walk.

Quotes

"Best event yet! It is huge now! I used to be able to park in the lot and now I am 7 rows into the grass. Great cause, great price, and great after party. One of my favorite days of the year." –Dan

"We had such a great time this past weekend - can't wait to do it again next year! :)" –Elaine

"What a great time at the Save-a-Limb Festival; great weather, great people and we are thrilled with the amount we (TEAM JRI) did raise and I still am getting some more donations. That is one of the things that makes Sinai so special; the people have that special friendly and caring attitude that puts you at ease. Keep up the good work." –George

"I wanted to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for organizing and hosting the Save-a-Limb Ride this weekend! I've volunteered for a lot different events but I've got to say the volunteers from Sinai this weekend were incredibly passionate and very welcoming to me and all of the participants. I also had a chance to meet a few of the doctors and patients - and I've got to say what you guys to for the children and their families is absolutely inspiring and I was very honored to be a part of it this weekend!" –Ashley

"I thought the event was awesome! Streets were very well marked. Post-ride lunch was the best I have ever been to. Riding with a pro of the caliber of George Hincapie was a once in a lifetime experience for me. I plan to do the ride next year and really work on people to donate to this great cause." –David

"All of the volunteers I encountered were very pleasant and helpful, especially those at the water stops. The course was challenging but well laid out and clearly marked, which is very important. Also, George Hincapie and Robbie Ventura could not have been nicer. You did an excellent job securing some cycling greats for this event. Sometimes we take for granted that we can go pedal and these kids out there don't know the joy of riding a bike." –Jason
